Okay so I noticed it has become a real trend to make your OCs super short
and not going to lie it becomes obvious when someone does it on purpose to up the 'kawaii factor'
And I just want to throw my 2 cents into this
"But Kami isn't Panama super short !!1???"
Thats not my fault lmao she is 100% average Panamanian female height, Panamanian women are tiny
And in fact depending on the source, some say they're even smaller than the height I gave her !!!
She's 5'0.5" and some sources say the average female height is 4'11"
But I chose the foremost.
Frankly, yes, her height is adorable when shes next to tall characters I like putting next to her but its so naturally without being altered to be so. It's an average height.
I see a lot of people using the "the country is smol so my OC is smol" as a method now
I think this logic is flawed and there are certain times when it can be used and certain times when it shouldn't
i.e. is the country the smallest OR 2nd smallest in its region?
I think thats acceptable. Country size does build identity on a map but that is not always the case.
Is it the 3rd or 4th smallest?
More iffy. anyone can come in 3rd or 4th place, that aint special anymore, it's not significant anymore.
For this I can use my Kazakhstan as an example.

Average female Kazakh height is 5'3". My Kazakhstan is 5'5" and I was thinking of making her 5'6". I made her bigger because Kazakhstan is impacted a lot by nations from which tall European men come from (Russia and Netherlands) AND to represent the large land mass. It also fits her because Kazakhstan is a very old and very strong country.
Yet I couldn't go make her 5'9" because that's also inaccurate, its too tall for an Asian woman.
On that note; short Latina/Asian countries ? much more common than shorty short European women omfg
Take this from a person from 3 regions, our nutrition depending on region is different and its not surprising that European women will be taller as well as often thinner and not curvy pear shapes compared to Latinas-- Americans (the continentals) are known to intake more fattening foods and females store fats in the lower halves of their bodies much more than men (which is why the female booty is bigger than a mans even if the girl is thin). European women don't consume the same food. Have you guys seen the 'school meals around the world' post ??? I suggest you look it up. It's not a myth that Europeans are less curvy because of their diets. And with that comes height, too. Not to mention tall is a beauty standard there, you kinda want your European OCs to be taller...
I've seen someone give their Fem!Prussia the height of 5'0" just because she was albino and its rare for Germans so she wanted to give her the height because its also rare for Germans like uhm sounds very special snowflake to me.
But tbh it doesn't just go this way (making female OCs short) its also making male OCs unnecessarily tall.
Also with that landmass = height logic shouldn't Russia be the tallest in the world because its land mass is the biggest in the world ?? My headcanon Russia is very tall because his landmass ranking is #1.
Swedes lead the world in tallest men. Sweden would be very tol despite not being the biggest country.
Also what about England lmao England is a small country BUT YOU DON'T SEE ARTHUR BEING 5'2"
The logic is flawed but it can be used very well if its worth being represented.
El Salvador is the smallest nation in Latin America's mainland = an El Salvador OC can be made a tiny bit shorter to represent that.
Panama is a very small country on a global scale but I aint integrating that into her height lol ?? Because it's not worthy, it's not one of THE smallest, just small.
Sometimes it will also fit the representation, sometimes it won't. We gotta think, man. Imagine a 4'11" Israel lmfao. No.
So the best solution? Just give your OCs heights that are average or closer to average if they're not leading the region in its size. It's not hard. Tbh your OC doesn't need to be 4'11" when average size is 5'2", thats already smol.
But I guess that's just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
