Though, as a Romanian I feel a little conflicted with that skin tone...It looks nice on him,but the majority of Romanians still have in my opinion a lighter skin tone...(not pale as a vampire though XD) Gosh, I'm sorry for saying this...but it's inaccurate.
Gosh I really hate arguing so I won't xD but just mentioning Romania derived from Rome, is a Latin country and connected internally and historically to Italy should justify the skin tone being this nice olive.
It's just that while, yes we are of a Latin descendants, we received our fair share of influences from Slavs and so on and so forth. Look at France, for instance. The majority of French people aren't tanned and their Latin too(well except for people from the former colonies but that's obvious I think)Heck, they're even closer to Italy than we are... We've only been conquered by the Roman Empire 100 years, not so much...
I think so, too. But The French have much more Caucasian influences than other Latin countries, they're literally the whitest Latin people situated really close to the heart of Europe. Naturally, of course, their people are definitely whiter. A lot of Italians are also white, actually, but South Italy in Hetalia is Romano, and he represents more of Rome itself (while North Italy is Venice). That's why Romano's skin is a tanned color. I don't see the problem with Romania having this light tan when it seems pretty logical.
Yeah, that's true. I've met few Italians myself and they were whiter than mine, you'd expect them to be tanned but I guess that's not always the case. As for Romania...let me let you in on a little secret...When Romania was formed as an independent united country, one of our ministers suggested that the "new born country"should have a name related to Rome, in order to emphasize our Latin origin...I mean, technically, "Roma"is the Italian name for Rome...I think you get what I'm saying.
I'm sorry if I ticked you off with my comments...I can't help controlling myself whenever there's something about Romania...or other countries that I know stuff about...XD
Romania's design never really convinced me but DAMN you make me change my mind. He looks really masculine in your style (and the skin color is also great! It suits him better than that pale vampire color some people give him)
